A veritable display of environment-related projects marked the Green Earth Expo’12 that saw participation of about 30-40 schools of Pune. The atmosphere at the Balewadi Stadium was one of excitement and liveliness as children from different schools, in different uniforms mingled with each other. As it was my first experience of this Expo, I enjoyed it thoroughly and learnt a lot too.

The topic of our project was “Wood vs. Alternative Recycled Materials” showcasing charts made out of rice paper and handmade paper. One of the distinguishing aspects about our project was that we had made Hyacinth Paper in our science lab! I personally thought that we would bag the prize for “Most Eco-Friendly” instead of “Best Presentation” because every material used in our stall was alternative or recycled. But considering this was our debut performance, I think we did a pretty good job if it. At least our sincere efforts bore fruit. The moral support and encouragement from Murad sir and other teachers brought a big smile to our faces. Sukhvinder ma’am was especially pleased with the way I gave my presentation of the model of the house to the visitors. That really makes me feel proud of myself!

APPRECIATION LETTERS FROM THE HRD MINISTRY

A teacher who loves learning earns the right and the ability to help others learn." - Ruth Beechick

G G International School, Pune had another feather in its cap when a set of educators from the school received appreciation letters from the CBSE and the HRD Ministry for their commendable work in the field of education.
The proud recipients included the senior staff members, namely, Mr. Murad Sarfraz ,Mrs. Bharti Bhagwani, Mrs. A.K. Oberoi, Mrs. Vishakha Gupta and Mrs. Sukhvinder Kaur.

It is indeed a milestone for each educator to be recognised in such a way and to be appreciated for their effort. The wonderful feeling of being able to generate outstanding results and develop mature & socially aware individuals is indeed a very satisfying feeling; and receiving recognition for the same, very fulfilling.

The school and staff would continue working towards achieving the school's vision and mission of producing individuals with a mature and an all round developed personality; who are socially, emotionally and culturally aware to take up the reins of the nation and prove their worth for the society at large.
